What can I expect during my first appointment?
Your first visit includes a personalized consultation, facial assessment, and treatment plan discussion. Macy will review your goals, explain each option, and, if desired, treatment can be performed the same day.
Who performs the injections?
All injections are performed by Macy Bosshard, PA-C, a licensed and experienced physician assistant. Your care is handled personally and with attention to detail.
Is Botox a safe treatment?
Yes. Neurotoxins (commonly referred to as "Botox") have an excellent safety record and a long history of use in medicine. It has been safely employed for more than 20 years to treat both medical and cosmetic conditions. When performed by a licensed professional, neurotoxins are a trusted, effective treatment for facial wrinkles.
Does the injection hurt?
Botox injections are generally quick and well-tolerated. We use fine needles and gentle technique to minimize discomfort. Most patients describe the sensation as a small pinch, and no anesthesia is required. The treatment typically takes 15–20 minutes with no down time.
Are there any side effects?
Most individuals experience only mild tenderness or swelling at the injection site, which usually resolves within 48 hours. Mild bruising is also possible but rare. In some cases, nearby muscles may temporarily relax, causing mild eyelid or eyebrow drooping that typically resolves within a few weeks. Allergic reactions are extremely uncommon. Neurotoxins have a remarkable safety record with no evidence of long-term negative effects when administered properly.
How does Botox treatment work?
Botulinum Toxin, commonly known as Botox®, works by temporarily relaxing muscles when injected into them. It blocks the nerve impulses that stimulate muscle contractions, preventing the formation of dynamic wrinkles. This results in a softer, smoother, and more youthful appearance of the skin.
How soon will I see results?
You’ll begin to notice visible results in 3–5 days, with full results in about two weeks.
How long do the effects last?
It can take approximately 2–14 days to see the full results. Cosmetic benefits typically last 3–4 months, and in some cases up to 6 months. With consistent treatments, some patients find their wrinkles become less noticeable over time as the treated muscles gradually relax. A two-week follow-up is recommended to assess your results and provide touch-ups if needed.
Will my face look unnatural?
Not at all. Botox® is designed to smooth dynamic wrinkles — like those on the forehead or around the eyes — without altering your natural expressions. Macy customizes each treatment to enhance your features while maintaining a natural, refreshed look.
How often can I have Botox?
Treatments can be repeated approximately every 3–4 months. Over time, some patients may find that results last longer with consistent treatments in the same area.
Is there downtime?
There’s little to no downtime. You can return to work or daily activities right after your appointment. Minor redness or swelling usually fades within an hour.
How much does treatment cost?
Pricing depends on your goals and number of units used. You’ll receive a personalized quote during your consultation before any treatment begins.

Can I get treated if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
For safety reasons, we do not perform injectable treatments on patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding. We’d be happy to schedule you after your provider clears you postpartum.
